Four FMX World Champions will compete at the longest running FMX Sports series in the world, in the German Capital while also expecting the 3 millionth visitor to NIGHT of the JUMPs.
The weekend of the 16th and 17th of February, 2018, spectators in Berlin will be holding their breath as the best Freestyle Motocross riders from NIGHT of the JUMPs catapult themselves through the Mercedes-Benz Arena on 100 kilogram motorcycles. More than 180,000 fans have celebrated the high’s and low’s of competition in the German capital since 2005. In 2018, Berlin is expected to see the 3 millionth visitor overall to a NIGHT of the JUMPs event, and the one lucky visitor who becomes the 3 millionth set of eyes, will take home a Free Ticket for the full season of NIGHT of the JUMPs series.
NIGHT of the JUMPs is the original and only FMX series in Europe to continue competing on dirt. The dirt helps the riders show their biggest tricks in competition in a battle for the World Cup crown. In 2018, the best rider field will be available in Berlin. Featuring 4 World Champions including the reigning 4-time World Champion, Maikel Melero (ESP), three-time title holder Remi Bizouard (FRA), 2010 Former World Champion Libor Podmol (CZE) and the 2013 World Champion, David Rinaldo (FRA). With riders of this calibre, the best tricks in the sport will be guaranteed such as the body varials, Flairs and Double Grab Flips.
Berlin will be treated to the insane antics of their very own German FMX Prodigy and quadruple world record holder, Luc Ackermann. Luc’s huge array of Best Tricks such as the 360, Surfer Tsunami Flip, Flair, Egg Roll, California Roll and Double Backflip will amaze the crowd. The 20-year old from Thuringen, is hoping to finally become a World Champion with this huge bag of tricks after taking a 2nd place at the first event in Basel.
The Australian FMX star, Pat Bowden will also be pushing for his own glory in the capital. He has landed some of the biggest tricks in the sport including the Double Backflip, Ruler Front Flip and Rock Solid flip. What can he bring to Berlin to get himself onto the podium against such a heavy hitting class of riders?
Fellow Australian Rob Adelberg, runner-up World Champion of 2016 will make his return to the World Championship series in 2018. His ambitions are high to finally seal a World Championship title, however missing the World Cup opener in Basel has left him behind the 8-ball with zero points in his title hunt.
The home-town kid, Berliner, Kai Haase will also return to NIGHT of the JUMPs. The RTL SuperTalent finalist premiered his first California Roll in NIGHT of the JUMPs Cologne in 2016, and in 2018 it will be interesting to see what tricks he has in store for the Berlin crowd.
Brice Izzo (FRA) who was the 2010 runner-up World Champion, Leonardo Fini from the hills of Tuscany in Italy and the Czech Flip Machine, Petr Pilat will complete the starting grid for the NIGHT of the JUMPs event in Berlin.
11 of the world’s best FMX riders will fight for the all-important Championship points in Berlin. For the first time there will also be a team contest, with an extra wide landing to be built. This will allow teams (consisting of three riders) to perform their tricks simultaneously and synchronously. Tickets are available from ticket outlets and on www.nightofthejumps.com. 2018 will be the biggest NIGHT of the JUMPs event in history in Berlin, you won’t want to miss it.
