In the beginning of November, the summer break of the NIGHT of the JUMPs season 2017 ends with two fulminant World Cup competitions in the Chinese economic metropolis Shenzhen. 11 of the best freestyle motocross athletes in the world will face a fierce battle for points in the FIM Freestyle MX World Championship. Including the Thuringian FMX sportsman Luc Ackermann.
For the sixth time in a row the NIGHT of the JUMPs crew travels to China. After Guangzhou and Beijing in the first tow years Shenzhen is the venue for the two China Grand Prix competitions since 2014. The city in southern Guangdong province is separated only by a river of Hong Kong and one of the fastest growing cities in the world. In 1979, only 30,000 people lived in Shenzhen. Its status as a special economic zone has made it one of the most important cities for foreign investment and a metropolis with more than 15 million inhabitants.
Last year we were in Shenzhen with Luc Ackermann and explored the city away from the stadium and hotel. 35 degrees, high humidity and the smog lay on working days above the economic metropolis. Also the food and the handling with the chopsticks was not easy to get used to for the young athlete. Especially the dessert at the Korean barbecue restaurant astonished. Ice on the stick of peas had not e been expected by Luc as a dessert. But see for yourself what Luc has discovered in Shenzhen.
Here are a couple more pictures of Lucas Shenzhen Trip!
