NIGHT of the JUMPs e-FMX World Championship

On July 25th 2020, NIGHT of the JUMPs will make the huge leap into Video Gaming for the first time with an all new Virtual Sport tournament series in the sport NIGHT of the JUMPs have dominated for over 20 years, Freestyle Motocross.

Partnering with the all-new Motocross Video Game, TiMX : This is Motocross which is based on the Mobile Phone platforms of Android and iOS, NIGHT of the JUMPs will in 2020 create history with the first ever e-FMX World Championship series with the game developer, Aussie Adrenaline.

While celebrating 20 years of Freestyle Motocross competition events as the longest running competition series, NIGHT of the JUMPs have been in discussions with TiMX for over two years, to bring this new eSports series to fruition.

The tournament will take 16 of the World’s top Freestyle MX riders and pit them against each other in a Head to Head format, all in the comfort of their own garages as the world grapples with the lockdown from the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

The riders will put together their best Freestyle Motocross run in Virtual Reality on the specially designed NIGHT of the JUMPs FMX Track, which will become available for all Gold VIP Subscribers of the game. Free from danger of injury they would otherwise be exposed to in real-life (except for perhaps RSI of the Thumbs), the riders are able to perform the tricks they would love to do in their Dream FMX Run, which will be produced for Facebook LiveStream and YouTube series, just like the original Freestyle MX World Tour Championship.

NIGHT of the JUMPs regular TV and LiveStream Host, and former FMX Athlete and Judge, Steve Sommerfeld will commentate the entire show which will be released on YouTube each Saturday night at 7:00pm CEST (+2 UTC).

Of the Top 16 Riders, some big names are already confirmed to compete including X Games Gold Medallist and the only person to perform a Triple Flip in real life, Josh Sheehan (AUS). Sheeny will need to time his run right if he’s to be able to perform a Triple Backflip in this game as well.

Looking for a new World Championship title to add to the 5 World Championship trophies already, Maikel Melero from Spain will want to pick up some more gold hardware. The other Spanish Duo who are legends of Freestyle MX but also of another MX Video game, Mad Skills, Edgar Torronteras and Jose Miralles. Edgar, who is truly an icon in FMX as one of the founding riders of the movement was also ranked as Number One of the best Mad Skills players at one point in time, while Miralles was in the Top 50!

The 2007 X Games Gold Medallist, Adam Jones (USA) won’t need to worry about going into Foam Pits to learn the new tricks in TiMX and has one of the most acute senses to style in FMX to potentially take out the first e-FMX World Title.

The 2011 World Champion Javier Villegas (CHL) who is still competing at NIGHT of the JUMPs IRL (in real life) has all of the patience needed to piece together a Freestyle run full of variety. Also hailing from South America, Brazil’s four-time FMX Champion, Fred Kyrilloswill return to NIGHT of the JUMPs competition for 2020. Surely he will be ready to compete in the real World Championships, but also wants to show his wares in the virtual world also.

One rider in particular, who could be the most dominant, is Pat Bowden. Pat has been involved in the games design and testing since the very beginning as an Aussie Adrenaline supported rider for over 10 years. Bowden’s flair for style coupled with his tech ability and experience in the game’s development means he could be a dark-horse to win the first event.

With the remaining riders to be announced via the NIGHT of the JUMPs Facebook LiveStream Gaming, with a new rider announced every day, there are some big names who are ready to take out the first ever e-FMX World Championship series.

The NIGHT of the JUMPs TiMX e-FMX World Championships will run as a Head to Head Knockout series, held over 5 weeks with the Fans able to Vote for their favourite riders, to see who goes through to the Final Round.

FC Moto, one of the world’s biggest Motorcycle Parts and Gear Retailers and Online Stores has backed the production of the all new e-FMX World Championship. With FC Moto’s expertise in the Online world, opening an all new market of Virtual Sport and accessibility for fans to view the action and vote for their favourite rider has just become so much easier.

Fans will have until Monday morning to make sure their votes count and make sure their favourite rider, or more importantly the rider who did the best run, goes through to the next round and final to become the first ever e-FMX World Champion.
