Heartbeat Final Between Luc Ackermann and Marc Pinyol

After six years, the NIGHT of the JUMPs made a spectacular comeback in Hamburg last Saturday. Twenty of the world’s best action sports athletes stormed into the Barclays Arena to battle for the Germany Grand Prix titles in Freestyle Motocross (FMX) and MTB/BMX.

In FMX, eight riders competed in two qualifying groups. From each, the top two advanced to the final. Germany’s Hannes Ackermann opened the night with stylish flips and combos, but it was Italy’s Davide Rossi (90 pts) and Czech rider Matej Česák (85 pts) who secured the first two final spots.

In Group 2, Marc Pinyol (ESP) stormed into the finals with a flawless run, including Tsunami and Frontflip variations, scoring 89.3 points. But it was reigning World Champion Luc Ackermann (GER) who lit up the arena. The crowd erupted as he landed his signature Double Backflip, 360, and Frontflip, earning 94 points and the top qualification spot.

The final turned into a thriller. Česák and Rossi delivered strong runs, but Marc Pinyol took the lead with an incredible mix of Frontflip combos and a California Roll, scoring 89.3 points. Then came Luc Ackermann. Despite an early mistake on the Hartattack Flip, he pushed the limits with a massive Holygrab, Suicide Frontflip, and a perfectly executed Hartattack Backflip. His closing 1-Hand Double Backflip sealed the deal. With 90.6 points, Luc claimed the Hamburg Grand Prix win—his third victory in four contests.

Other highlights included the Isotrack Best Whip Contest, where Matej Česák won the crowd vote against Davide Rossi, and the Sync Contest, dominated by the Ackermann brothers with perfectly timed flips.

In the MTB/Scooter Best Trick Contest, German Red Bull rider Lennox Zimmermann wowed fans with a Triple Backflip and a 360 Double Backflip to take the win ahead of Spain’s Alejandro Bonafe.

With this result, Luc Ackermann now leads the 2025 World Tour standings with 78 points, ahead of Matej Česák (56) and Libor Podmol and Davide Rossi (44 each).

The grand season finale of the NIGHT of the JUMPs World Tour will take place on November 8, 2025, at the PSD BANK DOME in Düsseldorf — where the world champion will be crowned.
