A season opener full of shock, drama and emotion

The 2026 NIGHT of the JUMPs season kicked off in Berlin - and it did so with one of the most intense and emotional openings in the history of the series.

A nearly sold-out Uber Arena, a fired-up crowd, and a stacked rider lineup set the stage for what was expected to be a classic Berlin showdown. What followed, however, was a night full of twists, crashes, controversial decisions, and razor-thin margins.

Luc Ackermann misses the final under maximum pressure

One of the biggest shocks of the night came early. All eyes were on Luc Ackermann.

After dominating the 2024 and 2025 seasons, the German superstar came into Berlin with a target on his back, heavy expectations, and a lot to prove.

With the stakes sky-high and the pressure on from the first run, Ackermann struggled to find his rhythm in qualifying and ultimately missed out on the final. A shock for fans - and a powerful reminder that in sports nothing is guaranteed.

FMX Finals: Bowden wins by 0.33 points

The FMX final featured Davide Rossi, Marc Pinyol, Libor Podmol and Pat Bowden - and it delivered edge-of-your-seat drama until the final run.

Australian rider Pat Bowden, the only athlete who managed to beat Luc during the 2025 season (in Dresden), once again proved his composure under pressure. Despite crashing in the final, Bowden claimed the Berlin win thanks to his higher difficulty level, technical precision, and cleaner execution overall (judges ruling), edging out Marc Pinyol by an astonishing 0.33 points.

🥇 Pat Bowden - 87.33 points

🥈 Marc Pinyol - 87.00 points

🥉 Libor Podmol - 85.67 points

Davide Rossi - 66.33 points

One of the most dramatic moments of the night came when Davide Rossi crashed mid front flip - a heart-stopping scene inside the Uber Arena. Fortunately, Rossi escaped without serious injury.

Adding another layer to the night: Pat Bowden and Wyatt Fontenot competed on electric powered bikes, showcasing the next step in freestyle technology alongside traditional fueled machines.

Marc Pinyol delivers his world-record moment

Once again, Marc Pinyol stunned the crowd by landing his world-record backflip drop-down from a 12-metre-high scissor lift - a signature moment that continues to push the limits of what's possible in freestyle motocross.

Best Whip: Wyatt Fontenot makes a statement

🏆 Wyatt Fontenot (USA) claimed the win in his very first NIGHT of the JUMPs appearance, impressing both crowd and judges with style, control and amplitude. A massive debut for the American rider - and another highlight of the Berlin opener.

MTB, BMX & Scooter: Best Trick Highlights

🏆 Tom Pfeiffer (91.0 points) celebrated his first-ever NIGHT of the JUMPs victory, a major career milestone.

🥈 Alejandro Bonafe (90.2 points) pushed the limits, crashing with a cashroll to bounce frontflip in his final run and missing first place.

🥉 Petr Castka (89.9 points) secured his second NIGHT of the JUMPs podium with his final trick, the double cashroll (also: double frontflip 360), continuing his upward trajectory.

Freestyle Trampoline: Crowd-driven victory

The freestyle trampoline contest was decided by crowd vote.

Team RED (Lenni Leitner and Niklas Distler) earned the win after landing spectacular quad and quint kabooms and igniting the arena.
