Luc Ackermann wins in Munich, Marc Pinyol sets a new world record, and the 2026 title race is wide open
The second stop of the 2026 NIGHT of the JUMPs World Tour Championship in Munich delivered a night full of adrenaline, emotion and defining moments.
After the dramatic and unpredictable season opener in Berlin, the pressure heading into the Olympiahalle on April 25th was already high. What followed confirmed that the 2026 season is shaping up to be one of the most competitive and intense in recent years.
From the first qualifying runs to the final tricks under maximum pressure, Munich marked a clear turning point in the championship.
Luc Ackermann Celebrates Comeback Victory
All eyes were on Luc Ackermann after Berlin, where the four times German FMX World Champion missed the final and lost valuable points in the overall standings.

In Munich, he delivered the perfect response.
With a technically demanding and consistent final run, including multiple high-difficulty tricks, Ackermann secured victory with 86.50 points and brought himself back into contention for the 2026 World Tour Championship.
His win not only closed the gap in the standings but also sent a clear message to his competitors: the fight is far from decided.
Marc Pinyol Sets New World Record

Beyond the competition, Munich witnessed a historic moment. Spaniard Marc Pinyol landed a backflip flat drop from 13 metres, setting a new world record and surpassing his own previous mark of 12 metres established in Dresden last year. The attempt, performed during the show programme, pushed the limits of freestyle motocross once again and underlined Pinyol's role as one of the most progressive riders in the sport. Despite a crash in his final run on the Frontflip Lazy Boy, Pinyol secured second place (76.00 points) and remains at the top of the overall standings.

Championship Standings Tighten
After two events, the battle for the 2026 title has fully ignited.
Marc Pinyol leads the World Tour Championship with 36 points, followed by Davide Rossi (30 points). Luc Ackermann's victory moves him up from last place (8 points after Berlin) to 28 points, tied with Libor Podmol, keeping both riders firmly in the title race. With such narrow margins, every upcoming event will play a crucual role in determining the World Tour Champion.
MTB BMX Scooter Best Trick Contest Highlights
The non-fuel competition in Munich once again showcased the rapid progression across all disciplines.
Spain's Alejandro Bonafe claimed a victory with a clean Cashroll No Hander, followed by Switzerland's Lucas Huppert (P2), who landed a technically demanding Frontflip Triple Barspin.
German Jimi Brandt (P3), who wasn't planned to compete in Munich, secured third place with a strong combination including a Bikeflip and a Backflip to Bounce Frontflip.
Several top contenders narrowly missed the podium. Lennox Zimmermann attempted a Double Backflip 360 twice but was unable to land it, while Berlin winner Tom Pfeiffer crashed twice on his Triple Backflip attempts. Due to the "best two out of three jumps" rule, both athletes were left with only one sucessfull attempt and missed out on the top positions, despite their high level of difficulty.
MTB BMX Scooter Tour Rankings

The results in Munich also had a major impact on the overall standings in the MTB BMX and Scooter rankings.
With his win in Munich, Alejandro Bonafe moves up from second place after Berlin to take the overall lead. After scoring 18 points in Berlin, he now sits at 38 points, putting him at the top of the rankings.
Tom Pfeiffer, who claimed victory in Berlin, now drops to second place with 30 points overall, after missing out on the podium in Munich despite attempting some of the most difficult tricks of the night. Meanwhile, Jimi Brandt climbs into third place. After qualifying for the final in Berlin and securing a strong third place in Munich, he continues his consistent rise in the standings and firmly establishes himself as a serious for the season.
Looking ahead: Munich 2027
Following another successful event, NIGHT of the JUMPs will return to Munich. The next stop at the Olympiahalle is scheduled for April 24th 2027. Early ticket buyers can already secure their seats with a 20% discount.
Next Stop: Leipzig on May 23rd 2026
The 2026 World Tour Championship continues on May 23rd in Leipzig, where the next chapter of this increasingly intense title battle will unfold. With pressure mounting and the standings closer than ever, the competition is expected to escalate even further.
Munich delivered everything expected from NIGHT of the JUMPs: a comeback story, a new world record, high-risk attempts and a championship race that is now fully open.
As the season progresses, the level of performance continues to rise - and with several riders still in contention, the fight for the 2026 title remains unpredictable.
